Romancing the West & VistaPrint

Yay. First chapter done! Whether it's any good or not I'll leave to my CPs!! But the main thing is it's down and the pesky couple of paragraphs of description (that took me almost an entire week to nail - I know, unbelievable isn't it!!) have been wrenched from my imagination onto the page. I much prefer to get onto the nitty-gritty of the interaction between my hero and heroine but I have to set the world first. And I can't leave a blank and go back to it - I'm strictly linear!

In other news, I'm getting very excited about the upcoming Romancing the West one day conference in Perth on 1st May. I've ordered some postcards of my pretty cover for the goody-bags from VistaPrint (and VistaPrint rocks! I'm awesomely impressed by their customer service) and it will be fantastic to meet up with everyone.

I've also discovered it's a Very Bad Idea to look at airfare prices late at night on an iPhone. With the upcoming RWA conference in August, I was almost beside myself last night when I discovered Virgin Blue charged $209 for a return to Sydney so immediately raced to the computer to grab this bargain with both hands. Only to discover, of course, that was a one-way ticket! I hadn't scrolled down far enough on the iPhone. Oops!

Save me a postcard :)

Ooops on the airfare.... tell me, was it because you were tired, or because you'd been on the wine and pineapple that made you forget to scroll down... hmmm???

I understand completely about taking days to sort single paragraphs. It happens to me a lot, unfortunately.

Those promo postcards sound waaay cool. I hope you'll have some for the RWA conference in Sydney. It's such a gorgeous cover.

And I know I've said it before but I seriously can't wait to read Captive. It's right up my alley.

Sara are you kidding... I have several here for you!!! As for the airfare... OH! It might have been the wine, as it happens!!!

Cathryn, it's good to know I'm not alone in that!!! I will be sending some cards to the Sydney conference :-) And gosh I so hope you enjoy the book when you read it!!!

Eleni, yes I love my iPhone but because I enlarge the text so much it kind of distorted my view of the webpage! (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

Thanks Cari! And ooh, I wonder if I know your friend from NZ??

I like vista too! They can make the best promo stuff for good prices.

And great on nailing that first chapter. I too ponder and rewrite and try to get it right-- way too much time spent on first paragraphs from me!

(got my Forbidden Love cover and it's up on my blog. What do you think?)

Kaye! Your cover is just gorgeous and really captures the feel of the blurb - I can't wait until this hits the cyber shelves (and not long to go now!!!)
