Congratulations!

In other writing news I've been chatting with my fabulous editor at Ellora's Cave and today I received her revisions on Betrayed. I'll be starting them tomorrow and hope to have them done by the middle of December.

As for Tainted, the fourth book in my Roman/Druid series, I'm more than three quarters of the way through and had hoped to finish by the end of this month. But that's now taking a back seat as I tackle the revisions. There should definitely be more hours in the day!

And I have finally posted the first chapter of Archangel of Mercy up on my blog!

Autumn Harvest Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Autumn Harvest Blog Hop!

Autumn to me is October and November, russet leaves, a chilly wind and red noses. But when my family and I moved to Australia several years ago, we had to get used to suddenly having all the seasons upside down.

September is the start of spring down here, and even after fourteen years I just can't get used to it! It feels so wrong when it gets to October and November and the weather is heating up, the sun is shining and the roses are blooming. My internal clock insists that the nearer we get to Christmas I should be piling on the layers whenever I set foot outside the door, or turning up the central heating and curling up on the sofa with a fabulous romance.

Well, although I now have to peel off the layers and turn on the air conditioning, one thing hasn't changed. I still love curling up on the sofa with a fabulous romance :-)

There's only three and a half weeks until the release of Archangel of Mercy, written under my pen name of Christina Ashcroft, and I'm getting pretty excited! This is the first book in a new series of fallen Archangels and the women who capture their hearts, coming on 4th December from Berkley Heat.

Growing up in the UK, we never really celebrated Halloween. We might have seen the occasional pumpkin head but that was a real novelty and as for trick or treating? What is it about the Alpha Male that makes him such a delicious romance hero?  

I love paranormal romance and one of the reasons is because the hero is often a tough Alpha male. Somehow, I don’t mind an Archangel or vampire or shapeshifter shaking his Alpha ass, whereas for me such behaviour just wouldn’t wash with a contemporary hero.

It doesn’t hurt that these paranormal guys have bodies to die for, eyes that mesmerize at a hundred paces and bedroom skills that make my heart flutter (then again, since these guys are immortal they’ve obviously had lots of practice in this area!)

These Alpha heroes are hot, gorgeous and they invariably know it. Maybe they’re a tad arrogant at times, but so long as his heroine can give as good as she gets, I’m fine with this because let’s face it, there’s nothing quite as delicious as watching an Alpha male fall—irrevocably and forever.

A muscled bronzed shoulder greeted her. Definitely male. His face was buried in the curve of her shoulder and neck, and a mass of tangled golden hair teased her cheek.

She hitched in a ragged breath, but not enough to clear the stupor that once again crawled through her brain. He wasn’t dead. She could feel his heartbeat, and it was strong. Gingerly she raised her right arm, the one that wasn’t pinned beneath him, and attempted to push him off her.

It was like trying to push against a mountain. A warm, living mountain, and with horrified disbelief she realized that her fingers were clinging to the taut flesh as if they were magnetized.

He didn’t move, but something stirred. Fingers still glued to his shoulder, Aurora felt her face burn as the unmistakable length of his cock thickened and nudged against her tender core.

The insane urge to part her legs whispered through her mind and if it hadn’t been for the fact it was physically impossible for her to move at all, she had the awful feeling she would have done just that.

Of course she wouldn’t. What was she thinking? Clearly she was oxygen deprived. Her dry spell was catching up with her, and her unexpected thrills on the astral planes were still creating havoc with her libido. There was no way she wanted to shag this stranger. She didn’t even know what he was doing there.

His weight shifted; a slow realignment of heavy limbs as if, in the depths of his unconsciousness, he was slowly becoming aware of his surroundings. She froze, his hair still twisted around her finger in damning evidence, as his knees languidly eased her thighs apart.

Her heart thudded against her ribs and she tried to ignore the erotic tremors that claimed her sensitized clit. He wasn’t doing anything on purpose. There was no need to get so excited.

But there was a great need for her to drag back control, to squash this crazy lust distorting reality and—

He lifted his head from her shoulder and looked down at her. And her tangled thoughts vanished. For one eternal moment an overwhelming sensation of déjà vu quivered through her. As if his perfectly sculpted face, enhanced by a sexy five o’clock shadow, was as familiar as her own reflection. Mesmerized she gazed into his astonishing eyes, a swirling kaleidoscope of blues, greens and silvers. She had never seen anything so captivatingly beautiful and yet threaded through the awe was a faint echo of haunting recognition.

She might have continued to stare into his eyes forever if he hadn’t once again kneed her thighs farther apart. She gasped and deliberately broke the mesmeric contact as he settled himself more securely against her vulnerable pussy.
