Roll Over, Stephen King!!!

While flicking through the online book stores last night, I discovered Touch of the Demon is categorised over at All Romanceebooks as Paranormal/Horror.

Horror?!

I can't think why it's been called a horror. I'm sure if anyone bought it expecting a horror they'd feel misled! It's a futuristic/fantasy, although I'm fine with calling it a paranormal since that's what I called it before it was contracted!

Horror....lol I had to laugh. Gee if it was horror I would have never read it.

Amazing how some people contrieve ideas. I'm still chuckling. :)

It is funny but, like you said, Suz, you'd never have read it if you thought it was horror, and readers who love horror will probably be miffed because it isn't!!

I've had the same problem with some of my stories being put in the erotica category when they're definitely not. It's frustrating for both readers and the authors.

OMG! If yours is called horror what the heck would they call mine with the ghosts in it? Too funny how things are sometimes classified.

Bummer. Can that be changed?

Sometimes I think the people at those other sites are on drugs. I've seen some things I absolutely can't believe. Maybe contact Lisa in Marketing? She might be able to get it changed.

Yes I did wonder about contacting Marketing, just in case something can be done. I'll keep you posted!!!

That is odd to have that happen. Well, Horror? No way-- sexy yes. It might be fun to see what happens if someone reads it thinking it's horror. Maybe you'll pick up some new fans.

I'll bet the title had something to do with that, Christina. But Stephen King's not a bad name to be linked to!! LOL.

Hahaha, yes, wasn't I cheeky tagging myself with Stephen King!!!

Funny...but also distressing too! I found one of Michelle Rowen's lighthearted vamp stories in the horror section of the Sony ebookstore, so I've seen this kind of weird labeling before. Don't understand it!
