Office in Sight

My eldest daughter moved out four weeks ago, and we've finally emptied out her room (I don't know where she packed all the stuff, the things she left behind now take up half the space in the family room. Tardis springs to mind) As always nothing is straightforward, and daughter #2 decided she wanted to move into that room. She started moving her things yesterday and I have slender hopes she might finish the procedure by the weekend *sigh*

However, this means that eventually there will be a spare room going again. It's the smallest room and no way will we get two desks in there. My darling husband conceded the other night that I could have it as my office. YAY!!! I'm so excited. An office all of my own, where I can put up the framed cover of my book and gaze at it for inspiration!!!

Just over a year ago, hubby and I shared an office for five months (when both our daughters moved out for a while... they came back again... must be all my delicious home cooking) (um sorry did I hear laughter in the peanut gallery there???) anyway, during those five months I loved going in that room but basically didn't write a bloody thing.

I promise to do better this time!!

I did have a chuckle about the cooking. lol sorry. heehehhe
But an office of your own is terrific... Yes, lets hope you do a lot better. Keep in mind that your back is not to face the door and you have a view on your left. Put a mirror up to compensate for a missing left hand view (that's if it is)Hang a picture or painting something symbolic of water behind your chair and Ming Tang will allow the flow of creative engergy. :)

I have an office, but I haven't framed my book cover yet. You're my inspiration, Christina! Enjoy your new office!

Oooh! Congratulations on your new office, Christina. Just imagine. You'll be able to plaster the walls with covers of all your books.
Mine's covered in maps at the moment. Oh, and two very out of date calendars of naked French rugby players. Can't bring myself to take them down for some reason.
Enjoy your own space, and may your imagination soar.

A room of your own - how exciting! Watch how territorial you'll get!

Sadly, I do have a room for writing but I never quite settled into it; I end up using it to dump bits and pieces I'll take care of later. At the moment the desks are cluttered with books that don't fit on my shelves. Having to clear the clutter kills all inspiration to write.

Strangely, I end up doing most of my writing in the kitchen.

Suz, that's ok, my cooking is a huge joke to my entire family!!! And I will have to chat to you about that Ming Tang cos I want as much creative energy flowing as possible!!

Thank you Helen!! Framing my cover was about the first thing I did when I saw it. I can't wait to put it up on the office wall!!!

OOh Cathryn, naked French rugby players??? Now I wouldn't mind some of them plastering my walls!!! (all in the line of research, this is a recurring phrase of mine!!!)

Sussan, my desk is so cluttered it's not funny. I have this theory once I'm in the office and have more space I'll be magically all organised and tidy (failing that I'll have a lot more floor space to spread my books over!)

My office and slovenly housekeeping are exposed to the world in this months edition of writers forum all over the back page.

I'd like to see that issue Nell! Although I still think my desk would be messier than your office!!

Susan, thank you - and you are very welcome!

Sara - um is that a trick question...?
