New book, new blank page, new fear of starting!!
But it can't be put off any longer. My new hero and heroine are clamouring inside my head, demanding I get their story down. The only problem is... actually starting it! It seems to get harder, not easier, the more books I write. Is that normal?
Anyway, I finally throttled the fear sufficiently to put fingers to keyboard. I'd nutted out the first scene in my head. Hero conversing with his king. So instead my hero's ex-mistress drifts into the room...
This happened with CAPTIVE as well. I knew exactly how the book should begin - with my hero. So of course as soon as I started typing it was my heroine who took over. I sometimes wonder just who's in charge of the writing department!

Golden Rule is not to Panic.... slow down, smell the roses...and come back. Don't think about it and your mind will definitely fill.
Suz :)
Christina,
I feel for you!! Though I have to admit I absolutely adore the start on a new wip, the excitement of bringing new characters in life. After that it's hard work, but so rewarding too.
I like the sound of your heroines, they're not letting you forget about them!
I love your heroines, all of them! But oh, how I love starting a new book. I have no problem initiating a blank screen, it's the getting to the end that gives me nightmares, explains my long chain of wips : ) Good luck, it's going to be a winner!
God, do I ever know what you mean. It's never easy but if you're like me the beginning will change along the way. Just start writing and see what happens. Don't freeze up! You're too talented.
Christina, I've been at that blank page stage for far too long now! I know you'll fill yours up with words, so you can be my inspiration :).
You'll be OK as always Christina. Doesn't have to be perfect - there's a wonderful thing called editing :)) Good luck in coaxing your characters in coming out to play.
