Challenge & Website Update

After the excitement of the last week, I got a bit behind in my 50k challenge. On Thursday I decided to put aside the novel I'd been working on, and started a new paranormal erotic romance (thank you, Meat Loaf!!!) Yes, I'd once again been listening to Bat Out of Hell while burning the dinner. It's coming along nicely although I haven't quite worked out how the hero and heroine will end up together. Unless I kill them off. Now there's a thought!

My husband has always been very supportive of my writing, but on Saturday his support took on a whole new level. Before leaving for work he told our son he was not to watch tv in the theatre room today because Mum was working (my desk is in the corner of that room). It was a little thing, and yet huge. Just to be on the safe side I barricaded myself into my corner by angling the sofa so no one (iow my son) could creep up behind me and lurk over my shoulder. I still haven't quite recovered from the time he was in Year 3 and told his teacher and the entire class that his mum spent all day on the computer writing sex.

I've also updated my website. Yet again! The lovely Rach suggested I post my sale story, so that's up there now under Articles.

Me again... just read the story! And wow - so inspiring! I soooooo know what ya mean about not being able to stop even if you want to. Sometimes I hate the fact I wanna write. Really, really hate it... but it's who I am!

Christina, I nearly spit out the drink I'd just sipped while reading your casual use of "burning the dinner". Hilarious. And, yes, I can totally see how Meat Loaf could inspire a manuscript or two. I heard he used to write musicals or something like that, so it's no wonder his songs tell a story. And, my God, him telling his class that you write sex? Hilarious! Wish I could have seen the discussion you had with him when you found out. ;-)

Excuse me..... 'theatre room'...... does it have a stage.... do you put on musicals...... any parts for me.... I don't charge a lot!!

So funny about your son saying that.... much better than when my son told his teacher that I was a hairdresser (huh) and his father was in prison hahahahaha

Rach, thanks for saying my story is inspiring. I think what I'm trying to say is it's ok to try different things on the road to publication (god knows I did!!!)

Caryn, I love songs that tell a story and the darker and meatier the better! As for the discussion I had with my son - let's just say I did my best to avoid his teacher until the end of that year!!

Sara, just for you we'll put in a stage and spot lighting!!

And sons. Gotta love them, huh!!!

It is so true, keep on keeping on. lol... Loved your call story.
It is true of most writers, the moment they stop they get grouchy and very hard to live with. :)

All the best,
Suz:)

Ooh, I love your new website - that background is gorgeous! And despite the fact that I've known you for a lot of your road to publication, I still got goosebumps when I read your article!!!!!!

Good on Meatloaf for being such an inspiration. Nice sale story (Hoorah for the Roadshow), and lovely websiste.

Thanks, Barrie! I love reading about sale stories too!!

Suz, it's a huge relief to know most writers feel the same about writing/not writing (not to mention housework/not housework...lol!!)as it makes me realise I'm completely normal!!!

Hey Kaye! thank you so much for the congrats! And I'm so glad you're back to writing!

Thanks Debs! I am thrilled and still very excited as well!!

Shelley, yes he did. During that year he also memorably informed his head teacher that his mum didn't do anything all day long except play on the computer. *sigh*

Amanda thank you! Now I have the knowledge of the tables there's no stopping me when it comes to changing my backgrounds!!!

Eleni, yes I have a lot to thank Meat Loaf for. So far I'm working my way through Bat Out of Hell, but I think there's lot of good stuff lurking in For Crying Out Loud as well!!!
